This September during London Design Festival, British furniture retailer Habitat is hosting an African Design exhibition. Graphic Africa will showcase…
I absolutely love these graphic prints. Although, I don’t think I create a whole lot using geometric shapes in any of my projects. This may be inspiring something… thick white paper and black and purple pen and ink. I’ll let you know what happens.
Beach memories from the Jersey Shore.
Some foods just don’t photograph well. I made this banana & Nutella ice cream (thank you Pinterest) and it was super tasty, super cold, and super guilt-free… But damn it’s not cute.
Stylesight.com’s short and sweet post on pops of color. My favorite color in this group is the yellow trench but my favorite ensemble is the third. I love that skirt. I have to ask, however, why do women always stand with one foot or leg turned in? I see it everywhere from magazine photos to random shots on Facebook. Hollywood’s starlets are a regular culprit. I vow to stand up straight and with my feet parallel for now on!
I absolutely love watercolors. And I equally love cards. So, when I saw this project on Pinterest (see link below) I jumped right in. Good thing I jumped right into a practice session. As you can see from my photos above (yes, I was drawing and water coloring in bed!) my initial attempts did not go so well. I actually bought the Prismacolor colorless pencil as well as a bar of just the medium that offers more coverage. I tried freehand just to get the hang of it but it didn’t work. I looked at the directions again and saw that I didn’t go over the letters with a paper towel. I used a Q tip, mainly because the bathroom was close by, and that certainly did help to brighten the letters. Ultimately, I’ll have to try this again perhaps on different paper and continue to improve my water coloring skills. My goal is to learn the technique and then create “I Love You” cards in English, Spanish and Portuguese and try to sell them at my local florists.
